Crocodile Rides
Number of Players: 6-12
Ages 6-10
This game was played by the Paga tribe, which lived in the northern section of Ghana. A similar game called "Alligator Crawl" is played by children who live in swamp areas of Georgia & Florida
Players divide into pairs, and each pair decides which one will be the Crocodile and which the Rider.
A large circle is drawn or marked on the ground that represents a pond, home to the crocodiles. About 20 feet away is a line drawn representing the starting point, where the players stand.
At a signal each Crocodile begins to crawl toward home using elbows & bellies. Riders walk alongside to guide the Crocodiles & to challenge any other crocodile who isn't crawling the right way.
The first pair to reach the pond is the winner.
